Food for Nations, a collaboration between JR Farms, aims to simplify food exports globally. This initiative offers a single platform for market access, export financing, standardization support, and trade assistance. It brings together various stakeholders to explore market opportunities, meet global standards, secure financing, access logistics, and undergo export training.
The program was launched in Lagos on November 24, 2023, with strong support from the French Embassy in Nigeria and the presence of French Minister for Foreign Trade, Olivier Becht. The event took place at Union Bank, Nigeria, and was a great success, attended by influential individuals and industry leaders. Special guests included the Minister Delegate for Foreign Trade, highlighting the program's significance in boosting Nigeria's food export industry globally.
JR Coffee is a specialty coffee carefully grown in the rich volcanic soil of Rwanda, washed, roasted with a hint of chocolate and packaged in Rwanda through a network of over 7,500 coffee farmers. Our approach to coffee production is highly responsible and sustainable by investing in shade-grown specialty coffee growing, investing in women coffee farmers in growing, washing and single origin picking- creating jobs for women as an important tool of reducing economic vulnerability in rural areas and improving income of farmers.
For more than 7 years, we have continued to add value to coffee beans to meet the growing taste of coffee lovers across the world for quality coffee. With a state of the art specialty roasting facility, we roast in four profiles- light, medium, dark and espresso roasts.
Our coffee products are exported to different markets across the world including African markets like Nigeria, Zambia, Ivory Coast among others; Europe, North America and Middle-East respectively. We work with a network of responsible distributors across countries to ensure effective distribution of our coffee to coffee drinkers. Over the years, in different countries, we have served a wide range of customers in millions and global hospitality businesses such Marriott, Sheraton, Continental Hotel among others.
To contribute to global livestock production and value chain, we operate a commercial scale livestock feed factory located in Lusaka, Zambia. There, we produce various livestock feed products for poultry, cattle, pigs and sheep/goats.
Climate change has affected production of maize across Southern and Eastern Africa, while maize remains staple for humans and animals. The region remains dependent on rainfed agriculture, this makes it difficult to increase maize production due to continuous decrease in rainfall and adverse weather conditions.
JR Farms’ innovation in Zambia with the livestock feed factory is to use cassava peels as a substitute for maize/energy base for livestock feed. This innovation will not only address climate issues facing maize production, but will generally reduce the stress of maize, ensure sustainable livestock feed production, increased income for farmers and increased livestock production for local and export markets.
The factory operates as a 13 MT per hour milling line and is designed to feed the livestock feed industry in Zambia and neighbouring nations such as Malawi, Botswana, Democratic Republic of Congo among others.
